2017 Senior and Senior Freeze Exemption Applications Due Now!

2017 Senior and Senior Freeze Exemption Applications Due Now
Assessor Susan Moylan Krey would like to inform residents that the Cook County Assessor has extended the deadline again for the Senior Citizen Exemption and Senior Freeze Exemption renewal applications and new applications for Tax Year 2017. The new extended application deadline is March 30, 2018.

Even if taxpayers do not qualify for the Senior Freeze Exemption because they exceed the income level, they should still complete the Senior Exemption. There are no income restrictions for the Senior Exemption. Seniors receiving the Senior Citizen Exemption automatically receive the Homeowner Exemption. Seniors receiving the Senior Freeze Exemption automatically receive both the Homeowner and Senior Citizen Exemptions.

Seniors born prior to or in the year 1952, who have never applied for the Senior and/or Senior Freeze Exemptions in the past should come to the Maine Township Assessor’s office for assistance in completing the application.
