W.I.T. (Workshop Improv Theatre)
WIT, our brand-new program, gives children ages 8-14 a low-stakes environment to hone their creativity and get silly! Through the art of comedy and fun of improv, participants will learn how to step outside their comfort zone and explore their imagination. Heavy emphasis will be placed on valuable skills such as listening, public speaking, problem solving, and teamwork.
This program is offered free of charge to residents of Maine Township or children attending a Maine Township school. This program is intended to be introductory and there is no prior experience needed with theatre, improv, or comedy to apply. There are only 15 slots available in this program.
Sessions will be held in person at the Maine Township Town Hall. The ten-week session will be held once a week on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00 pm starting September 22 and ending December 1 (No session will be held on November 24.) Depending on the comfort level of the class, there may be a final performance on December 1 for friends and families of participants. To sign up, please fill out the online application below.
