We are excited to ring in the New Year at Maine Township. A few things we’re looking forward to are:

  • Restored fiscal responsibility
The Township Board recently passed a levy which ensures vital services are protected, and it avoids dangerous cuts to programs for working families in our community.
  • Fully re-opening Township
While challenges remain from the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue working towards fully restoring pre-pandemic levels of service while continuing to offer some services virtually.
  • Saving Township residents money by assisting homeowners with their property tax appeals
Every year, the Township helps residents file their property tax appeals with the Cook County Assessor’s office.
  • Offering a helping hand to Township residents in need of aid or assistance
Maine Township’s General Assistance program serves the needs of our financially distressed residents. We’ll be here in 2022 to support those going through challenging times.
  • Implementing highway department survey recommendations
100% of survey participants were in favor of using highway department reserve monies to fund necessary infrastructure improvements, upgrade streetlights to LED where necessary and expand the Maine Township Recycling Program. We’re hoping to start work on as many of these goals as we can within the budget this year.
  • Improving the physical and mental well-being of our community
In 2021, we helped provide COVID-19 vaccines to the community, and we are excited to host our first vaccination event specifically for children in January. To support the mental health of all Township residents, we offer affordable counseling for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families at a reduced cost using a sliding fee scale. No one will be turned away due to inability to pay.
