You don’t have to pound nails to be a part of providing safe, affordable, decent housing for partner families. Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley’s ReStores in Elgin and Arlington Heights sell new and gently used building materials, appliances and furniture. The proceeds of these ReStores go to fund the building of houses and doing critical home repairs in the area. Volunteering at ReStore has a direct impact on supporting Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley.

Volunteer Opportunities

At ReStore Elgin and ReStore Arlington Heights, there are a variety of volunteer opportunities with our teams such as:

  • Donation pick up
  • Receiving/warehousing
  • Merchandise processing
  • Sales floor customer service/clerical

Schedule for Volunteers

ReStore Elgin: Offered every day, 9:00 to 5:00
ReStore Arlington Heights: Tuesday thru Sunday, 10:00 to 6:00
Court ordered Community Service

ReStore Elgin and Arlington Heights accept individuals that have at least 30 hours of court ordered Community Service hours to perform. ReStore does not accept anyone who has been arrested for Shoplifting, Burglary, Physical or Domestic Violence, Cruelty to Animals or Possession of Illegal Drugs with Intent to Sell.

A Restore orientation is offered every Saturday for all new volunteers and community service workers. To be invited to a NEW TO RESTORE ORIENTATION, contact Volunteer@RestoreElgin.org or Volunteer@ReStoreArlingtonHeights.org to advise whether you will be serving at Elgin or Arlington Heights.
