Mental Health Awareness Month

Maine Township is proud to recognize May as National Mental Health Awareness Month!

Mental Health Awareness Month is celebrated annually in May to shed light on the difficult and important topic of mental health in our society.

During this month, various organizations, mental health advocates, and individuals work together to spread awareness, reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions, and encourage people to seek help if needed.

In Maine Township, we are providing a host of services that are available to our residents to help build resilience and address critical issues in individual lives.

Services such as MaineStay Youth & Family Services and Recovery Connection are truly making an incredible difference in the lives of individual people and families who rely on these services to address key challenges in their lives. Additionally, the MaineStreamers continue to provide a safe and healthy outlet for seniors to form bonds and break free of social isolation within our community.

Most recently, the Township, with the help of MaineStay, partnered up with Elementary SD 63 and Maine West High School to expand youth counseling and therapy services to meet young people directly where they're at—within the local schools. This strong community partnership underscores the importance of being approachable and available to all individuals seeking help and someone to talk to.

This Mental Health Awareness Month the Township is renewing its commitment to enhancing these services year in and year out to provide our residents the quality of care they depend on to better their lives.
